Human Resource Management Micro-Credential

GCC’s Human Resource Management (HRM) Micro-Credential provides foundational training for those who are new to the human resource (HR) field, currently working in HR, but would benefit from formal training or seeking to enter the HR field.

Leadership Essentials: Problem Solving and Decision Making as a Leader

In this 3-hour workshop, you’ll delve into practical techniques to enhance your daily leadership. Learn to distinguish symptoms from core problems, explore diverse problem-solving methods, and apply varied decision-making approaches. Leave equipped to lead more effectively by making informed decisions that address the root of any issue.

Objectives:

  • Differentiate between symptoms and problems so that they can identify the core problem.
  • Use different techniques to come up with feasible solutions.
  • Apply different approaches to making decisions.

Leadership Essentials: Time and Work Management

This 3-hour interactive workshop will explore what it takes to be an organized leader, including examining current habits and practices that help and/or hinder your ability to manage your work. You will walk away understanding how to use the Evaluate, Plan, and Act approach, as well as two other work management techniques, to help you be more proactive and less reactive.

Objectives:

  • Discuss the value of organization and time management in the workplace.
  • Recognize habits and attitudes that help and/or hinder your use of time.
  • Organize anything using the Evaluate, Plan, and Act approach.
  • Use simple time management methods to prioritize tasks.

Notary Public Review

This course will demystify the office of notary public.  For anyone planning to take New York’s notary public examination, and for commissioned notaries who want to improve their understanding of regulations, this seminar will use plain English to clarify laws, concepts and procedures.  You will learn how to avoid conflicts of interest, maintain professional ethics, establish proper fees, minimize legal liability, handle special situations, and more.  To become a notary, you must be at least 18 years of age and either reside in New York or engage in business in the state.

NYS SAVE, DASA, Child Abuse Certification Training

This New York State Certification program involves three teaching/coaching certifications: a). Mandated Reporter (Child Abuse – updated version); b). School Violence/Prevention (SAVE); and c).Bullying Prevention Education (DASA) training. The program is focused on new teachers, new coaches, and new employees hired for healthcare and social services organizations. This self-paced training course will be delivered 100% online, utilizing GCC’s online learning platform, Brightspace. Students will have one week to complete.

Security Guard 8 Hr. Pre-Assignment

Under the Security Guard Act of 1992, licensing is mandatory for all contractual and proprietary security guard employers.  The law also requires security guards, themselves, to register with the New York Department of State.  This 8-hour course is for anyone seeking employment as a security guard and provides an overview of the Security Guard Act of 1992.  One hundred percent attendance is required, and participants must earn a passing score on a final exam.  Individuals who successfully complete the course will receive a certificate of achievement.
