CRJ205 - Administration in Criminal Justice

Catalog Description: Presents general administrative concepts of criminal justice agency operations. Examines organizational principles and the individual, allocation and management of human resources, organizational effectiveness, change and evaluation. Prerequisite: CRJ101. Spring only.

Lecture: 3 hrs.

Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs):
Upon the successful completion of this course, a student will be able to:
1. Analyze criminal justice administrative and management principles as they pertain to real life situations.
2. Explain the organizational structures of the three components of the criminal justice system.
3. Describe the management functions of various criminal justice organizations.
4. Explain the significance of leadership within a criminal justice agency.
5. Describe the sub-culture of employees (culture, perspectives, attitudes, style and ethics) typically present within the criminal justice system.
6. Develop a comprehensive scholarly presentation on an important criminal justice issue.
7. Deliver an effective presentation on a criminal justice issue.
