Develops skills with operating systems, computer terminology, and functions of hardware and peripheral components within a workstation environment and using proper drafting standards. Requires drawings using different techniques, drawing constructions and dimensioning. Two class hours, two lab hours. Fall only.

Lecture: 2 hrs.

Lab: 2 hrs.

Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs):
Upon the successful completion of this course, a student will be able to:
1. Demonstrate the set-up of engineering drawings in proper form using Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) software.
2. Use CAD software to draw geometric constructions (lines, circles, polygons, polylines, etc.)
3. Demonstrate CAD commands to edit/modify drawings for mechanical production
4. Utilize CAD display options to increase drawing flexibility and increase drawing efficiency
5. Create a basic kitchen design using CAD software
6. Create an orthographic CAD drawing of a mechanical object.
7. Calculate required dimensioning on an orthographic mechanical CAD drawing
