Catalog Description: Examines group behavior and techniques to influence group processes. Studies principles affecting group behavior, effective meeting strategies, conflict resolution principles, and leadership skills. Utilizes small groups in class to apply course material. Prerequisite: HUR101.

Lecture: 3 hrs.

Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs):
Upon the successful completion of this course, a student will be able to:
1. Identify a variety of concepts that make an effective group.
2. Apply key skills required for effective group leadership.
3. Explain how principles of theory govern group structure and function.
4. Describe the termination of group process.
5. Identify and describe effective professional self-care.
6. Apply communication theory to practical group situations.
7. Discuss fundamental theories of leadership.
