PED259 - Beginning Personal Fitness

Credits: 2

Catalog Description: Focuses on fitness theory, basic fitness training and conditioning principles, while working toward specific individual fitness goals. Also emphasizes personal behaviors for optimal wellness.

Lecture: 2 hrs.

Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs):
Upon the successful completion of this course, a student will be able to:
1. Explain current fitness trends.
2. Define basic fitness concepts such as: muscular strength, muscular endurance, cardiovascular endurance, flexibility, body composition, or the FITT Principle.
3. Describe different conditioning routines that may be used as alternative fitness programs.
4. Develop an action plan to achieve personal wellness goals.
