SPE102 - Voice and Articulation
Catalog Description: Develops student's ability to present performance material with confidence to a wide variety of audiences and audience sizes. Enables public speakers to improve voice artistically through application of the General American dialect, and to deliver performances while employing proper vocal and interpretative techniques. Covers both the process of creating voice (control of pitch, loudness, quality, rate, breathing, phonation, articulation, resonation, etc.), and the ability to assess and critique oral performances.
SPE108 - Public Speaking
Catalog Description: Develops listening and organizational skills and the ability to present messages effectively in public speaking situations. Primary instructional strategies are theory-model-practice and evaluation.
SPE109 - Interpersonal Communication
Catalog Description: Introduces communication theories affecting interpersonal and small group situations. Students participate in a limited number of group and role-playing activities in order to demonstrate the theoretical aspects of the process of interpersonal communication.
