Use the general form →Common Questions
What happens after I submit a report?
Your report will be routed to the office best positioned to assist. From there, someone will review the report and decide on the right next steps. Depending on what you share, that might mean reaching out to you, connecting the student with support, or looking into the situation further.
Do I need proof before I report?
No. You don’t need evidence or to be certain something happened. If something concerns you, tell us. We’d rather hear about it and look into it than have you stay silent.
Can I get in trouble for reporting?
No. GCC does not allow retaliation against anyone who reports a concern in good faith. Punishing someone for speaking up is itself a violation of college policy. To encourage reporting, most reports allow anonymous submissions as well, although anonymous reporting may significantly limit our ability to follow up.
Who will see what I share?
Only the people who need it to respond. GCC follows FERPA, Title IX, and college policy when handling reports. If you have questions about privacy before you report, contact the Dean of Students Office.
